Maternity Care
We provide full maternity care with our community Midwives.
Clinics will take place at Aylestone Hill Surgery and Ross Road Surgery and appointments are necessary.
Once your positive result has been confirmed you will be asked to present yourself at reception. The receptionist will give you a pregnancy pack and ask you some details i.e. name, address and telephone number. The receptionist will then book an initial appointment for you to see the midwife at one of the surgeries. At the first appointment she will arrange your dating scan which is now combined with a nuchal screening scan. This will be done at the hospital when you are approximately 11-14 weeks pregnant.
The community midwives will look after all your antenatal care other than your hospital appointments and scans.

Most pregnancies are uncomplicated and in many cases hospital appointments may not be necessary. However, this can easily be arranged at any stage should the need arise.
You will be offered two ultrasound scans, these are performed at the Women’s Health Department at the County Hospital and your partner is welcome to attend. Your midwife will arrange these for you through the midwife service, not through the surgery.
The Green Croft Centre hold a drop in clinic and timed appointments. Ask for further details from your midwife.
